* I broke down and bought boots today. I vowed to never own big ugly, I look like I'm a dog sledder, boots-but the selection at Target was low and I needed to buy something to wear when I take Torii out. Slipping on my boots is sooo much easier than lacing up my tennis shoes, but they are just so hideous I feel embarrassed wearing them. I decided to take my boots on a test run up to McDonalds real quick figuring no one would see me, but just my luck my window was frozen shut so I had to go inside to order. I swear everyone was staring at my enormous monster boots. My feet were real warm though, so I guess that's a bonus. In case you are wondering, I did not tuck my jeans into my boots. If I ever start doing that you can shoot me.
* I started Christmas shopping today and my mom had suggested I get the Junie B. Jones Second Grader books for my little cousin Samantha because she absolutely loves them. So I go to 3 stores looking for these damn books...I keep finding the first grader series, but never the second. Then I start questioning whether the second grader series even exists. I decided to ask the possibly 16, no older than 17 year old girl at the Barnes and Noble help desk. I asked her if there were books entitled Junie B. Jones Second Grader because all I'd seen so far were the kindergarten and first grade series, and she looks at me and says, "Well my brother is in third grade and he really likes them. So I'd say a second grader could read them." Hmmmm. I tried again, this time rewording the question and her response was, "Yeah, some kindergarten and first graders can read those books too. I've heard of that." Oh my God. Where do they find these people?!?!
* I did some Walmart shopping today...something I swore I'd never do. Since they opened a new store right across the parking lot from work I figured I'd at least have to check it out (plus I was on a mission looking for those damn books!) I was pleasantly surprised with how nice and clean it was (the Walmart in Elmhurst is the nastiest place on earth...I seriously get scared when I have to go there), and the prices were pretty good as well. There is something about being a Walmart shopper that I just don't like though. I've always been a Target shopper. Target is a good store, a nice store....Walmart isn't bad, but I just feel like it appeals to a certain group of people and I don't want to be considered one of them. Seriously though, if you tell me your cute sweater is from Walmart, I'd be thinking to myself, sick I hate Walmart clothes; but if you tell me it's from Target I'd probably buy it. I guess I'm just a snob like that. Maybe I'll slowly start incorporating Walmart into my life...they do have amazing DVD prices.

I am totally like you. I LOVE Target and I think its so much better than Walmart. I think all Targets are about the same--clean bright, friendly places. Walmarts on the other hand really are quite different from one area to another. Some are nice with friendly, others are extremely dingy and ghetto.
I am totally 100% anti-walmart, they are everything I hate about Corporate America. Did you read the article in the Star Trib on Thanksgiving about Walmart?
I'm proud of you for choosing comfort over beauty with the boots buddy ;)
