Yesterday Andy and I saw the much anticipated Dave concert, and it of course, was incredible.
Andy and I arrived at the Target Center fairly early because I was determined to see my new pretend boyfriend, Gavin Degraw, open for Dave. When we attempted to enter the arena we were informed that there was a problem with our seats (tickets had been mis-numbered and in our assigned row there were only 5 seats and our tickets were for imaginary seats 8 and 9) so we needed to go to guest services for new seats. I was totally freaking out because we had fourth row seats, there was no way I was not going to let them rip me off. Amazingly they gave us floor seats which were 10 times better than our original seats so I was thrilled. We had an incredible view, right in the center of the floor...I seriously couldn't have imagined anything better!
I was very surprised at the crowd. My last Dave concert was at Alpine Valley where the crowd consisted of mostly younger adults....last night there were small little boys behind us, they seriously must have been 12 or 13 max, as well as very snooty looking rich women in furs with their respective husbands in nice leather jackets and business attire. I assumed right away this concert would be different from Alpine...no weed smoking, no muddy people runny around going crazy, no wasted people spilling beer everywhere....but I was wrong. An amazing amount of people were smoking up right there in the Target Center! I was so angry. Yes I realize Dave appeals to the weed smoking crowd, but don't these people have any common courtesy?! Get high in your car before you come inside people...I don't want to breath in your nasty ass pot smoke. I seriously wanted to punch several people in the face for their blatant rudeness and disrespect for others around them. Not only were people getting high, a fight broke out in front of us...2 girls surprisingly, and then while waiting for the encore, I swear I heard a guy on his phone right behind me say "yeah man, I'm ankle deep in piss." I immediately picked up my purse from the floor praying it wasn't dripping with urine...thankfully it wasn't, but on our way out I did notice the floor behind us was all wet. I can't imagine someone actually peed on the floor, so I'm praying I heard wrong.
Aside from all those minor things the concert was amazing. Gavin Degraw did a fabulous job opening...he is so talented (and hot) and I am totally going to see him live again someday! Of course Dave put on a spectacular performance. Sadly, I didn't know even half of the songs he played, but that really didn't matter...watching him and his band jam out on all the instrumental parts is so crazy....you can't help but be impressed, they are insanely talented! It certainly made me appreciate his new cd a lot more. The best song....Smooth Rider. Check it out :)
Oh and Gavin Degraw, I love you. If Andy doesn't ask me to marry him soon, will you marry me?!?!

Bets, I hear that Gavin Degraw is opening for Bon Jovi when they come in January. We should get tickets so you can see your man again.
(Just kidding, but I really want to see them, and I know I'm the only one I know who would go)
Sounds like you had a fun time. I would have been annoyed too--people are so rude.
Gavin Degraw is also my secret boyfriend. Do you have his CD? I got it last year and it is AMAZING, seriously, I love every single one of his songs on that CD.
It comes highly reccommended from me, and I'm not one to buy CD's very often! It's in my CD player at work on rotation with Kelly Clarkson.
He's also going to be at Jingle Ball, FYI.
