Spring Break!

I really, truly have NO idea how people with normal jobs live without spring break. It is the best time of the year. I'm sad my break is already nearing an end, but it has been a lovely and productive break so I have no complaints. Here's what I've been up to:
  • I did some MAJOR spring cleaning last weekend. It felt great doing all of the little things I never seem to have time for.
  • I scrafted for the first time since the summer. I finished the Justin Timberlake concert which I believe was January 2007. So, I'm 2 years behind, but making progress. My goal was to be caught up before Isla is born. I realize this is pretty ambitious and probably not going to happen, but we'll see...
  • I bought lovely new maternity clothes from Motherhood Maternity. I feel so much better having nice clothes that fit. I decided spending money is necessary. I would have been buying regular spring clothes for myself anyway, so whatever. I'll continue to tutor until the summer to support my shopping addiction.
  • I had lunch with 2 of my favorite buddies. I've been totally MIA lately due to pregnancy exhaustion and questionable stomach syndrome (QSS). It was nice catching up and actually talking to someone other than Torii.
  • Andy and I went to the Twins home opener! Even though they lost it was still nice being at the Dome. I will miss it when it's gone.
  • I had my 25 week doctor appointment. Isla's heartbeat is 138 and everything looks great.
  • I started a "baby blog" to keep family posted on the pregnancy. I didn't want anyone reading this site....the archives are pretty questionable. (www.betsysbabyblog.blogspot.com)
  • I flew in to Chicago Wednesday afternoon to see my family. We had delicious Mama Maria's (my favorite!) and just hung out. It's lovely being home.
  • Today I fell in love with a new hair stylist. Too bad she is 6 hours from my home. I love my regular stylist but because she is a friend, she always tells me that my hair looks good. I needed an honest opinion and someone to make my hair look natural. My new BSF (best stylist forever) did just that! I have lovely brown hair with some blonde highlights. Nothing bright, streaky, chunky, neon...just nice hair. I'm THRILLED! I will post pictures later :)

See how busy I have been?! I still have tons more planned! Wanna know what's left??

  • Writing an entire unit plan on animal classification. (UGH!!) This is the one thing I have been putting off.
  • Happy hour at Roberto's tonight with the fam.
  • Lunch with the lovely Alison tomorrow. I have not seen her since my wedding and I couldn't be more excited to catch up!
  • Dessert in Naperville tomorrow with my high school buddies Anna, Jeannie, and Katie.
  • Massage and pedicure on Saturday. (Yes I am very spoiled.) Then watching movies with Abb during the day and seeing I Love You Man later in the evening with Abb and Courtney.
  • Flying home Sunday at 12 and spending Easter with Andy and the Snoogs. No family, no commitments, no Easter eggs, no Easter food. I'm hoping McDonalds is open.

Once I return to school I will only have 9 weeks until summer vacation! This year has flown by. I guess that is what happens when you have the most adorable kids ever. I wish I could post pictures of their adorableness, but that wouldn't be appropriate.

Okay, off to write my unit plan! Happy Thursday!

I am totally jealous of your spring break. And your long weekend in Chicago sounds heavenly... I hope you're having a wonderful time!

And reading your baby blog will be a nice way to pass some time here at work. It's so quiet, no one's here, and I am having a horrible time convincing myself to stick out the rest of the day.

I am so jealous that you get Spring Break... I think everyone should have a one! When you get back from your amazing relaxing weekend we have to get together for some Champs Waffle fries (from what I hear they still have them). Also - McDonalds for Easter! That is the best thing I have heard all day, enjoy your last Easter without crazy traditions like Easter eggs hunts and coloring eggs!
