My Dad's BFF, aka Abb, had the most amazing 21st birthday party. We were at Howl at the Moon, a fabulous dueling piano bar in Chicago, for the majority of the night. The bar seems very casual and laid back, but in order to get a table, you have to pay $125...craziness!! That does get you 4 free drinks per table though, but still...I was shocked, I'm too cheap to ever pay $125 for a table!! My dad however ended up reserving 4 tables in the back of the bar for the party which ended up working out quite nicely. Had we not had tables, I'm sure people would have left immediately because there was really no where to stand. I'm not sure what my dad told our waitress exactly, but there were buckets of beer at each table and seriously the second they were empty someone would come over and bring more. I was amazed....there was truly a never ending supply of beer. That would have been a good night for me to convert to beer drinking, but I couldn't bring myself to, so I stuck with marguritas.
Abb had tons of people show up...most were coworkers and my dads friends who she seems to spend a lot of time with. Having older friends does pay off...she received hundreds of dollars in birthday presents!! I was amazed to say the least.
I thought the night was amazing, and it wasn't even my party...so I can't even imagine how Abb felt. Everyone had a great time and Abb surprisingly wasn't all that hungover the next morning. She didn't even get too sick. I was seriously so scared she was going to throw up on me in the middle of the night because we had to share a bed. Thankfully, there was none of that.
Andy and I had to leave Saturday afternoon, pretty much right when we returned home from the hotel. I would have liked to stay at least one more day, but Andy and I both had to work Sunday. I have to say the drive SUCKED. I hate driving in the rain and it rained 80% of the way home. I already miss IL but I'm very happy to be home. I missed my cozy bed, and my couches, and really everything about this apartment of ours. I am going to try my hardest to not return to IL until March...so we'll see how that goes :)
I really should be working right now but I'm lazy. I have such a hard time getting into the swing of things again after vacations. I have avoided all 10 sub calls this morning...sooo bad. I think today will be a workout/tanning/grocery shopping day. I do have to work tonight from 6-8 but I think I can manage that.

Wow, your dad really went all out for Ab's birthday! That's amazing, I can't even imagine paying $125 for a table at a bar. I think something like that would be enough to give my mom a heart atack.
Wait, so your dad reserved 4 tables. Does that mean $500?? That is absolute crazyness. How come my best friend Abb did not invite me to the party?? Did she forget the times we had?
