My Mornings

I am trying very hard to develop a morning routine. Usually I get out of bed at the very last possible second, scramble to try and get ready, eat a granola bar in the car, and arrive to work with a minute or 2 to spare. I HATE being rushed in the morning, but I HATE getting out of bed! I have decided that really, those extra 20 minutes I stay in bed, don't help at all. I don't wake up 20 minutes later feeling refreshed and ready to start the day. I usually end up feeling more tired, and then crabby cause I'm rushed.

My new plan is to get up at least 30 minutes before I need to start getting ready. That way I can read some blogs, check the news, eat breakfast, and have plenty of time to get ready for work! I definitely think there is a correlation between looking good and feeling good. When I take time to fix my hair it usually looks fabulous and I feel 100 times better about myself. When I look like a scumball, (one word or two? not sure.) I seriously avoid talking to people out of fear they will be talking about my greasy hair or my not so put together outfit all day.

So today I got up a whole hour before I had to! I've had plenty of time to sit around, eat breakfast, and prepare myself for the day. I still have an hour and a half before I need to leave...so I am predicting that today will be a fabulous hair day :) I'm going to need all the extra confidence I can get...I'm subbing in a sixth grade class today. I love teaching sixth grade, but subbing in sixth grade is an entirely different story. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed I won't have to teach fractions... I know not even my fabulous hair will be able to get me through that ;)

I am so amazed that you got up so early. I don't think I could ever do that. I really should try though, because those extra minutes really don't do anything at all. I'm sure you did fabulously today in 6th grade!
