My mom and I were supposed to go out to dinner tonight as a really late birthday celebration for me but she cancelled. She left me a message earlier informing me that her boyfriend has the flu and she feels just terrible leaving him alone for so long and that she needs to get back to him right after work. She even said she felt guilty going to work this morning and leaving him by himself all day. What?! He is a 50 year old man with the flu...I'm sure he is capable of surviving without my mom. Whatever. I really didn't feel like working up the energy to make small talk all throughout dinner anyway. I will be much better off with my Lean Cuisine stir fry and The OC :)
