I have learned that I really do not enjoy weddings unless it is my friend getting married, or I am heavily drinking. Tonight, neither was the case. Andy of course got WASTED and NEEEEEEEEEEEDED to stay until the very last minute, while I sat around bored and sober. Needless to say I was, and still am, a little crabby. I would have been incredibly happy had the night ended around 10...but no....I had to deal with "just one more drink" for 2 hours. I tried my hardest to be polite and cheerful considering he has done the same for me in the past (Mandy's wedding...need I say more?!) but the more drunk Andy got, the more embarrassed and impatient I became. I didn't know anyone else at the wedding, so I was pretty much glued to Andy the entire evening, had I known other people (or been drinking), I don't think I would have been so crabby. I really would have liked to have left at a decent time so we could come home and enjoy the rest of the evening together, but what I ended up with is a puking boyfriend who is now probably passed out in bed hogging all of the covers and the good pillow. Oh well. It's not the first time drunk Andy has pissed me off....so I'll get over it.
There was a bright side to the evening; I did get some good wedding ideas for my pretend wedding that I am planning in hopes of getting married sometime before I'm 30. The bridesmaids wore gorgeous tea-length dresses that I have decided I need to have. It seems so silly to have anything else for a summer wedding, I can't believe I had once thought these to be too casual! Oh, and I LOVED that after the wedding we didn't need to wait for the bride and the groom to come to our row and "dismiss" us. I HATE that. They didn't even have a procession line, (is that what they are called?!?!) everything was very low key....exactly they way I want mine to be. Now if only Andy would propose I could get on with my planning! :)
