So Much to Say!

-Guess who is home from work today?! ME! There is an H1N1 flu scare at our school. 2 teachers (1 pregnant) have flu like symptoms, and since the flu season is over, they are advised to stay home for 7 days in the event it is H1N1. There were several kids being sent home with fevers and flu symptoms last week. Pregnant teachers/staff were advised to stay home today...even though it sounds like there is chaos at school since no subs have arrived yet! I feel bad staying home, but I certainly don't want to risk getting sick. I'm hoping I won't be out for the whole week though; I don't' want to miss the last week with my adorable kiddos. The principal said we should take it "day by day" so I guess I'll let her make the calls.

-I have the best friends and family in the entire world! I'm amazed at the generosity a little baby can bring out of people. Both of my baby showers were wonderful. Isla is now incredibly spoiled and will most certainly be the best dressed baby around (let's hope she is tiny so her 0-3 month clothes last a while!). Clothes and blankets were definitely the gifts people loved giving. We also got lots of diapers which we really needed! We still need to get our bigger items...stroller/carseat, high chair, swing (?), and a few important smaller things, like a Boppy and diaper bag...but otherwise I think we are set!

I can't believe I'm already 33 weeks along. Look at that monster belly. I am still not totally convinced there aren't twins in there :)

-Andy and I started our labor and delivery class last week. It is actually better than I thought it would be...but going to class from 6:30-8:30 on Monday nights REALLY sucks. Oh, and the pamphlet I received on perenial massage made me want to die.

-I was feeling pretty confident on dealing with the pain of labor until I had my last checkup at with my OBGYN. He did a cervical exam and I thought I'd jump off the table in pain. Now I am reconsidering my ability to give birth. I have less than 7 weeks to mentally prepare myself.

-Summer officially starts for me on the 12th! YAY! I'm so excited. The year flew by.

That is very scary about the flu outbreak, I think you are very wise to stay home. You don't want to risk getting sick or getting Isla sick... it is a little early for her to arrive! I am glad the baby showers went so good. A couple more big ticket items and you will be totally prepared!

I laughed out loud at your mention of the perenial massage pamphlet, I know, kinda freaky stuff! So crazy that our bodies were actually built to get freaking babies out, via that area, huh?

Stay confident about labor, you will be just fine! Self-doubt is one of the hardest things to break free of and in my opinion overcoming it is the biggest obstacle women face when it comes to giving birth. You are totally hard core, you can totally do this!

Oh, and I had a blast at your shower, it was fun to see all the girls!
