**Update**
My doctor called me tonight which I thought was very nice. He told me the only "hot spot" on my bone scan is my toe, which is excellent because if it is cancer, then it hasn't spread to other bones. Now I have to have a biopsy soon to determine exactly what is going on. He told me I have 2 options...the first is going in and taking a sample of the bone and tissue surrounding it, the second is taking out the entire affected area. This didn't quite make sense to me. Why would you take out the entire affected area before knowing exactly what the problem is? I'm obviously having him do the sample area first. He did tell me that depending on how much of the bone is affected, I could have a floppy toe (which does not sound nice), he also warned me of the possibility of having to remove most of the bone, leaving me with very little, if any, toe at all. I really don't know what would be worse. A floppy, non functional toe seems ridiculous, but having no toe at all will look ridiculous. I guess I shouldn't be worrying about that right now though. At least I will sleep easier tonight knowing that I am a step closer to having answers.

Wow buddy, this whole toe thing has really ended up being a major bummer huh?

I'm glad to hear that if it is at all cancerous, it hasn't spread. Definitely let me know when you know more after the biopsy.

When is the bone scan? I hope it all goes well, which it will! And losing one toe wouldn't be the end of the world, at least it hasn't spread any further! Let me know when you hear more.
