Conversation between me and the 2 seventh grade boys at my table:
Kid 1: Where's Jake?
Me: He's sick today.
Kid 2: He was sick last Tuesday too!
Kid 1: He probably has the Asian bird flu.
Me: No, he doesn't.
Kid 2: How do you know?
Me: I just do.
*10 minutes later*
Kid 2: I wonder when Jake is going to be back...
Kid 1: Well, if he has the Asian bird flu...
Me: HE DOES NOT HAVE THE ASIAN BIRD FLU.
Kid 1: He could.
Me: But he doesn't.
Kid 1: Well, he'll probably die if he does, so he might not be back.
Ohhhh this is one of the many reasons I LOVE being a teacher! Kids can be so ridiculous...

What a funny topic- I wonder what his parents were talking about at the dinner atble last night?
I love kids. It seriously makes my day when I get to interact with fun kids. Monday night was awesome when I was tutoring. All sorts of characters.
This one girl--6th grade--was telling me about this guy she liked and then they were "going out" and he won't talk to her now. This guy sitting next to her--8th grade--goes "yeah, that happened to me once"
I just love random stuff that comes out of kid's mouths.
Too funny. I probably would have told that kid that if his friend had the bird flu, then he'd probably get it too and could possibly die. But that's just me.
