Picky

I am not sure why Andy was so surprised this morning when I turned down a kindergarten job. I subbed in kindergarten once and the day was chaotic, loud, messy, and there was of course the child who peed his pants. I swore I'd never sub in kindergarten again, so there was no way I was taking the job this morning. Of course Andy was furious and couldn't understand why I wouldn't go. Subbing is a sucky unpredictable job, so I try and maintain a little bit of comfort by subbing in the grades I feel most comfortable. Granted when I turned the job down at 5 am I really assumed there would be other calls...but really you couldn't pay me to go back to kindergarten. I'm a picky person, what can I say? I have never tried to hide the fact that I am.

I just got a call for an EBD (emotional/behavior disorders) high needs position. Yeah right. Talk about WAY out of my comfort zone, and not to mention the fact that I am not even qualified for that job. Funny timing though.

So obviously I got up early again today though even though I said I wouldn't. It is nice to be showered and ready to have a productive day, but my problem is, I never seem to have enough to do. I'm keeping my fingers crossed I get a call for an afternoon position because I already feel guilty about turning down that kindergarten job...

Stupid subbing. I need a teaching job ASAP.

Buddy I'm with you about subbing. You could not pay me enough to teach anything below 5th grade. And those special ed positions freak me out too.
