Yesterday Alicia and I took part in a Hafla, a showcase of belly dance performers. I think it went pretty well, I haven't seen the video yet but I know I didn't mess up as much as I thought I would :) I was amazed at how nervous I was though. In high school I used to perform for football stands filled with people...and last night there were probably about 50 people in the audience and I was a wreck. I have decided that I definitely want to continue belly dancing with the intention of performing more and buying an amazing costume. My goal for Alicia and I is to choreograph a duet and perform it sometime in the near future...I think we'd be fabulous! :)
Aside from the belly dancing I haven't been up to much. I have been working out a lot, which I'm thrilled about. I'm actually starting to LOVE it! Before it was something I did because I wanted to stay skinny and healthy, now it's becoming something I look forward to. I'm hoping soon I'll be able to go for long runs like I did in high school and eventually run a half marathon. Between all the belly dancing and working out I've been doing I should be in fabulous shape...too bad I am back to drinking 4-5 cans of mountain dew a day. Damn you mountain dew for having 170 calories per can!
Oh...I started working again finally! I worked a whole 4 hours last week. Yes, I realize how ridiculous and pathetic that sounds. I have more hours scheduled for this week along with some subbing so my life will be back to normal in no time. Pretty soon I'll be able to go shopping again...something I desperately miss!
