A Great Vacation!

Arrowwood is still as fabulous as I remembered it. I had a very nice mini vacation, probably one of my favorite vacations yet. I am amazed how tan I am! I got more tan staying in northern Minnesota for 3 days than I did on my Caribbean cruise and Florida trip combined. Crazy! I am also amazed at the amount of things we did during our 3 days in Alexandria. Usually I prefer lazy vacations but I was all about being outside and doing different things...here are some of the highlights:


*Laying out by the pool everyday for at least 2-3 hours :) The weather was gorgeous...we really couldn't have asked for more anything more perfect!

*Mini golf. I am a terrible mini golfer!! I managed to get a hole in one twice but I still tied for last place. At least our team didn't cheat though ;)

*Go-Karts. Again, I am a terrible go-kart driver. I'm so scared of driving those mothers...I was by far the slowest driver. I am pretty sure almost everyone passed me once.

*Paddle boat excursion. This was not only fun, but a nice little workout :) Laurie and I commanded the ship while Abb and Bon took a little dip in the lake.

*Bike ride. Abb, Christina, and I took some very ghetto bikes for a spin around the resort. It was a very short little bike ride, but it was fun.

*Pontoon ride with the whole fam. It was a great afternoon to be on the lake having a couple drinks. Pontoons are the only boats I like because they don't go very fast :) Plus it was nice because it was really the only time every single person from our family was together in one place.

*Waterslides and the lazy river at the water park. This was a new addition to Arrowwood since I was there last. Not the most amazing water park, but it was refreshing after laying out by the pool all day. Plus I'm always up for waterslides...I LOVE them!

*Family volleyball game. This was hilarious. When we started playing I really didn't think we'd get all that serious. We ended up playing 3 games and having sooo much fun! It was me, Dad, Tom, Abb, and Katie against Andy, Laurie, Christina, and Bonnie. My team won, no thanks to me however, I realized that I am a terrible volleyball player. Thank goodness my team didn't kick me out, cause for a while there I was doing more harm than good.

*Having a couple of drinks in Dad's room in the evening. We never stayed up too late because our days were always so busy! It was nice to have a couple of drinks and hang out with everyone. Lots of funny stories and laughs.

I really laughed more on this trip than I had in a long time! It's so fun being with my Uncle Dick and his family...there are always so many funny stories! I'm so happy that we have decided to make this trip an annual event...I can't wait until next August. It's nice to have something so fun to look forward to.

Ohhhh I wish we were still in Alexandria so I wouldn't have to go back to work tomorrow!! I hate returning from vacation and getting back into my normal routine. Oh well, enough complaining...moving on.

In other news...I do not have a job lined up for the fall, I am dreading work tomorrow like you wouldn't believe, and I just ate an entire bag of chocolate covered pretzels in one sitting.
